Some Musical Talent Among Our Lassen Canyon Family

Talent isn’t just limited to growing plants at Lassen Canyon Nursery. Our employees are proud parents of some pretty talented kids. On December 2, 2015 the Foothill High School Music Department had its annual winter concert and three of our employees’ children were featured in the show.

First up was Marianna Jimenez. Marianna is the daughter of Hector Jimenez who drives truck for LCN and helps manage the Yuba City trimming shed. Marianna’s sister Nancy also works for LCN in the office. Marianna plays flute in the symphonic band and alto sax in the Jazz Cats jazz band. Here is a photo of her soloing during the Jazz Cats performance.

Next up was Alec Ponce. Alec is son and nephew of owners Liz Elwood Ponce and Kenny Elwood. Alec plays alto sax in the FHS Club Cougar band and is section leader in the symphonic band. He also did a solo doing the Club Cougar band performance at the winter show.

A highlight of the evening was the performance by the newly formed Foothill High School Orchestra. Eli Clark is one of the founding members of the orchestra. Eli is the son of Sean Clark who is an LCN mechanic. The orchestra had their performing debut last night at the Winter Concert. They did really well and we are very proud of Eli and his cello!
